Pretty....Advent Wreath waiting for larger Advent candles.
Happy....that I have realistic expectations with my decorating and catechesis!
I can't imagine or at least bring myself to ask the kids to make Jesse Tree ornaments. I am happy that I bought these paper punch out ornaments at an after Christmas sale two years ago. I figure there's no harm in having them get damaged. Whereas I'd be annoyed if the kids ruined handmade ornaments that took us time to make.
Funny
No matter what I do to pretty up the dining room table, someone always has to put more stuff on it instead of putting things away. That someone just happens to be me this time.:( I have no one to blame but myself for not moving the everyday fruit bowl back to the kitchen table, the fake holly decorations to the front porch for the Christmas pots, and the lone pink Advent candle back to the Christmas closet.
Real
Yes, that's the basketball practice and game schedule for December. The highlighted green is Monica, and the highlighted pink is Maria. Yes, there seems to be at least one if not two highlighted times on every day! That is Jane's finger painted Christmas tree she made in her preschool class and a letter from her little friend, Andrew. Along with that letter, he sent her a string of hot pink beads. Smiles all around! That paper at the bottom of the bulletin board is Molly's Schoenstatt Advent calendar. Diligent Molly is trying to keep up with all of her Advent commitments. Way to go, Molly!
I'm finally linking up with the ladies over at Like Mother, Like Daughter after weeks of not participating. In case, I don't link up again for a while have a Blessed Advent and Merry Christmas!

Visiting from LMLD...your side bar turorials are amazing! Enjoyed the bunuelos post...brought back lots of wonderful childhood memories!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Yes, those are happy memories for me, too.:)
DeleteI'm so glad you came this week :)
ReplyDeleteYou have a lot going on, but it's so good to see the Advent preparations as well! Good for you!
Thank you, Leila.:) I've been missing the link ups every week, but have been happy to keep up with all of the posts you ladies have been busy writing up. I am so grateful we all had a window into the girls' weddings this year, saw Rosie through her husband's deployment, and had a chance to be a tiny part of your second grandchild's birth. It's encouraging for us younger families as we struggle with the day to day when ALL THE KIDS are still in the house. Wow! They do grow up!! God bless you for your efforts and willingness to stay connected to all of us in spite of your illness. Hang in there....we're still praying for you and your family!:)
DeleteHi Grace! So inspiring. Two questions: how do you avoid letting the kids watch too much TV and/or play on the computer (watch youtube videos of Lego movies etc.) and other stuff; and what camera do you use these days (mine broke!) Thanks - love to you all. p.s. The cookies are mouth-watering pieces of art.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Margaret. I picked up a Canon EOS XS off of Craig's List. It has a stock lens and then I bought a zoom lens to go with it last Christmas. I'd really like to get a wide angle lens, but I have to wait a while for that to fit in the budget.:) Thanks for the comment on the cookies. We really enjoy making them.:)
