Berry Bounty

Raspberries have been in full swing this week courtesy of Grandpa Ben and the superb care he has given his raspberry bushes over the years.  Also, Daddy and the kids found a quiet little path close to the church where the kids have piano lessons.  Blackberries grow wild along that path.  Boy, were they good with my yogurt last night!

  1. Those look great. I've been meaning to test a Smitten Kitchen recipe for strawberry cake, and if I had those I think I would use them instead!

    1. You know, they don't last long enough to make anything with! The kids literally stand at the kitchen counter in front of the bowl and eat them one by one. Most Minnesotans just have them fresh on ice cream. It's this Texan that likes to bake them into coffee cakes and bars!;)

  2. Looks yummy, Grace! We have mulberries and blackberries in our garden and, when they're in season, the little ones come back dyed in purple, every time they go out to play!

    God bless, Grace:-)

  3. I think those small, dark ones are black raspberries, Grace - that's what we have in our forsythia hedge. I believe blackberries are not so rounded-looking. They're all good, though!

    1. I told Paul that's what they might be, but he insists they are blackberries only wild ones. I trust you though and will be happy to tell him.:) You're right....they're all good!
