As American As...

....Apple Bread!

I stayed up until midnight last night to bake two loaves so Nick would have some for his breakfast.  I am ever so grateful that we still have apples from last fall in our freezer!

  1. You'll have to give me your recipe. Our apple trees in the back yard are full and I'm hoping for a bumper crop this fall.

    1. I actually got it from a friend. I'll ask her if I can publish it here. Everybody I've given it to loves it!

  2. Apples in your freezer - how did you prepare them to go in there?

    1. Freezing apples is the easiest thing for me to do with the kids. I use an apple peeler/corer/slicer that I bought from Pampered Chef to make apple slices. We pack 1 lb. of slices in a quart sized freezer bag. They go right into the freezer just like that. You could add Fruit Fresh dissolved in water to help with the color, but I don't do that. I use the whole bag - which does get a bit watery when it's defrosted, but that just makes for a moister end product - to make 2 loaves.
