Science and History Heads Up

Maria chose to study Captain James Cook and his expeditions for her History lap book this Spring. Little did she know at the time that part of her study would include transits of Venus. Best of all, a transit of Venus is scheduled to occur next Tuesday at sunset!!!! These only occur every 105 years so this will be the only one we can view in our lifetime. How cool is that....that Maria would be studying this in the year of its occurrence!

If you would like to learn and know more, see the attached link for Transit of Venus.org.

  1. Thank you for sharing this, Grace. We visited the Sydney Observatory, in March, and saw the measurements and models from the 1882 transit - it was really interesting! Apparently, here on the eastern coast of Australia, we'll see it all happen. Thanks for the link:-) I hope you have a good view where you are.

    God bless:-)

    1. We have to work around a few sports schedules, but I think we should catch it on Tuesday around 5PM before sunset. Now I have to check back up on how to view the transit safely. I saw there is an app as well. I just might download that....love that link!
